Miss Anjl Gray

Senior Paralegal/Office Manager

Anjl is a highly experienced legal professional with more than 25 years of progressive experience in paralegal, administrative, and office management roles within South Carolina law offices and government agencies, with experience dating back to August 1998 with the Horry County Public Defender’s Office. Since early July 2021, she has served as Senior Paralegal/Office Manager at James W. Boyd Law Firm, LLC, where she supports the firm’s legal operations, manages office workflow, assists with case preparation, and ensures the efficient and responsive administration of the practice.


Ms. Gray’s background includes case review, trial and hearing preparation- including death penalty matters, legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, client communication, file management, court filings, and records maintenance in both state and federal matters. She also has extensive experience handling billing, payment processing, cash management, accounting, scheduling, correspondence, etc. Throughout her career, Anjl has worked closely with attorneys, public defenders, and government agencies, bringing a strong commitment to professionalism, organization, and extremely rare, highly confident, compassionate and caring client service.


A South Carolina native, Anjl was born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina the same year Mr. Boyd started practicing law. She is originally from the Cool Spring/Galivants Ferry/Aynor area, a close-knit community in Horry County. As the child of a United States Air Force service member, who retired after 20 years of service as a USAF Master Sergeant, Anjl had the opportunity to live in Mascoutah, Illinois, and Newcastle, Oklahoma. Through her father’s side of the family, she also has ties to Rock Hill, South Carolina. Ms. Gray is the proud mother of four amazing adult children- CJ, Richie, Brooks-Ana and Kaylee.

Legal Assistant

Miss Taylor James is a Legal Assistant at James W. Boyd Law Firm, LLC, where she has served since September 2022. Originally from Galivants Ferry, South Carolina, Taylor brings a strong academic background and a professional commitment to supporting Mr. Boyd, clients, and daily operations. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication with a minor in Psychology from Winthrop University, along with an Associate’s Degree in Arts from Horry-Georgetown Technical College.


In her role, Taylor assists Mr. Boyd with drafting and proofreading legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs. She also conducts preliminary legal research, organizes case files and exhibits. Assists with preparation for hearings, depositions, and court proceedings. Her responsibilities additionally include managing records requests and complex calendars, tracking court deadlines, coordinating schedules, preparing and filing court documents, maintaining secure physical and digital records, assisting with client intake, communicating with clients and outside parties, and supporting overall office operations.
